Museum Restaurant - Fall 2020

The purpose of this project was to design a restaurant with a cultural influence of choice that would be located within Museum London. The culture and country that I was inspired to base my design around was Japan. A very simple, yet elegant, design is what I was aiming for with contemporary Japanese styling as the main focal point within the space. The name of the restaurant is ミュージアム which directly translates to 'Museum' and was chosen to help strengthen that close bond with its surrounding space.

Within this project it was important to do proper research to create an amazing design that was based on evidence. Research that was beneficial for the overall design of a hospitality space as well as ensuring proper aspects of the Japanese culture were implemented well were both the most significant focuses. It was important to do a site visit to understand the existing space and locate the new restaurant in the most optimal area of the museum and understand the atmosphere.

Below, are examples of the work that I produced for this project. Floor plans, light map, 3D renderings, and a built parti model can all be viewed. Each image also has a caption explaining it further and highlights what program was used to create that piece of work and has a PDF link where applicable for better viewing.
